What is Hunger Wipeout?
Hunger Wipeout is a silly obstacle course made up of fun and sometimes messy physical challenges along with some creative thinking challenges too. This event will encourage families to work together to solve challenges & root each other on while compeleting physical ones. But it’s not just for families. Individuals are encouraged to grab a friend and enjoy some fun in the sun.
But that’s not all. Along with our zany obstacle challenges, Hippie 106.9 radio will be broadcasting live at the event. There will be yummy food vendors so you won’t go hungry. Plus, we are planning an array of entertainment booths such as face painting & shaving cream art that the kids will enjoy after the obstacle challenge. And if you like, you can even tour our 40,000 sq/ft facility. It’s a site to behold, I promise!
What is the purpose of Hunger Wipeout?
Hunger Wipeout is an event to raise money & awareness for the Food Bank’s Children’s Feeding Programs.
- The Sack Pack program provides children with a bag of nutritious, easy to open foods that will sustain them during the weekend. These children are fed during the school week through the school’s free lunch program but are at-risk of having no food at home during the weekends. During the 2010 – 2011 school year, the Food Bank distributed 144,000 sack packs to 32 area schools.
- Kid’s Cafe is the other program designed to feed children in after school programs at recreation centers and Boys & Girls clubs. Once a week, the Food Bank provides a nutritious meal to these kids. During the last school year, 22,400 Kid’s Cafe meals were provided.
Where is the event?
Hunger Wipeout will be held on Saturday, September 24th at the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. Registration will begin at 9:30am and then you are ready to work your way around the obstacle course. Each family will receive a frisbee to take home as our way of saying thanks for supporting such a worthy cause.
How can I participate?
To participate, please fill out a registration form, either the Family Registration Form, or the Individual Registration Form. Then have everyone sign a separate Participant Waiver. Finally, you can pay your registration fee by mailing a check payable to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank to 2009 Curtain Pole Road, Chattanooga, TN 37406, along with your forms. You can also, mail or fax (423) 622-5874 your forms to us and pay online.
