WRCB’s Share Your Christmas

28th Annual: December 7, 2012

This annual food drive benefits the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. This year we collected 176,069 pounds of food. A new record! The event has 3 locations, Chattanooga, Dalton and Cleveland with WRCB broadcasting live from each location. Food donated in Dalton and Cleveland will stay in those areas. Schools, businesses and individuals are all encouraged to collect food and bring them to a Share Your Christmas location.

Chattanooga – First Tennessee Pavilion, 1826 Carter Street, Chattanooga
Dalton – NW Georgia Branch of the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, 1111 S. Hamilton Street, Dalton
Cleveland – Life Care Center, Campbell Campus, 3530 Keith Street NW, Cleveland

Special Shout-Outs

With the tremendous generosity of WRCB, this event has raised more than 2 million pound of food in the past 27 years. Each year, the students from Silverdale Baptist Academy & Red Bank High School come to the First Tennessee Pavilion and sort food from 6am – 6pm. Schools, businesses and local grocery chains have always stepped up and brought in tons of donations. We thank you for your support!

2011 Hamilton County School Winners

The schools in Hamilton County participate in a Share Your Christmas contest to see who can collect the most food. Last year’s winners are as follows:

Brainerd Baptist School: 1st place for a school with 500 or less students. They collected 3,820 pounds
Silverdale Baptist Academy: 1st place for a school with 501 or more students. They collected 20,375 pounds; a new record.
Scenic Land School: Awarded best overall participation from their student population.
