This calendar gives easy ways you can help the Food Bank feed 20,000 people each week in the Tennessee Valley.
Sept 1: Forward this calendar & our website to you family & friends.
Sept 2: Purchase Buy One Get One free items this weekend and donate the free items to the Food Bank
Sept 3: Donate loose pocket change from this month to the Food Bank.
Sept 4: Register to participate in “Hunger Wipeout”
Sept 5: Become our fan on FaceBook and stay informed with all of our happenings.
Sept 6: Call the Food Bank and schedule a time for you, your organization or family & friends to volunteer. We always need your help.
Sept 7: Experience hunger by eating only one small meal today. Then post your experience on our facebook page.
Sept 8: Sign up for email alerts about happenings, classes, events, and food drives with incentives for you. To sign up email jferking@chattfoodbank.org.
Sept 9: Rent a movie about hunger. The Soloist or 30 Days on Minimum Wage
Sept 10: Win a custom made toy corvette from River City Corvette Club. Proceeds benefit the Food Bank.
Sept 11: Take the food stamp challenge. Eat on $21 this whole week. That is the average allotment for food stamps. Share with us on facebook.
Sept 12: Schedule a tour of our 40,000 sq/ft facility. Bring family & friends. I promise it’s a sight to behold. Email jferking@chattfoodbank.org to schedule.
Sept 13: Learn how your church can become one of our member agencies.
Sept 14: Need a speaker for your next meeting? We’d love to come our and speak to your group. Email jferking@chattfoodbank.org to set up.
Sept 15: Contact us about hosting a food drive at work, school, church, etc… Email jferking@chattfoodbank.org for more details.
Sept 16: Host “Denim Day” at work to raise funds/food for the Food Bank. Employees who donate can wear jeans to work today.
Sept 17: Did you know you can drop food donations at the Food Bank 24/7? We have a drop house just as you pull into our parking lot.
Sept 18: Read a book about hunger. All You Can Eat: How hungry is America or Nickel & Dimed: On (not) Getting by in America
Sept 19: Brown bag lunch at work for a week or a day and donate the savings.
Sept 20: Educate people you know about the Food Bank. Or tour our website and find out all the ways we feed 20,000 people each week.
Sept 21: Sign up for Bi-Lo’s BoosterPlus program. Bi-Lo donates 1% of all your purchases, when you use your Bi-Lo card to the Food Bank. You don’t pay a cent. Email jferking@chattfoodbank.org to sign up.
Sept 22: Check out the list of places that are holding a food drive and drop off donations at any of those locations.
Sept 23: Donate online and receive an eco-friendly grocery bag.
Sept 24: Today is “Hunger Wipeout“. Come out and join us!
Sept 25: View a list of upcoming gardening classes. They’re fun, cheap, and very informative.
Sept 26: Follow us on Twitter and learn ways to help all year long.
Sept 27: Have your company be a part of the best party in town, “HullaBowloo“.
Sept 28: Honor others by donating to the Food Bank in their name. Make a great birthday or Christmas gift. Call the Food Bank for more details.

Sept 30: Be thankful that you & your family have food to eat. For some it’s a precious commodity.
