Struggling Families are Grateful for You
Katie

“If it wasn’t for the pantry, we would really not know what to do,” Katie says, dismayed.

When we met her at Sequatchie County Fellowship of Churches Food Bank, a Chattanooga Area Food Bank partner near her home in Dunlap, Tennessee last summer, Katie told us she was having a hard time affording food for her growing daughters — Nicole, Jessie and Brittany.

The girls are able to eat free meals at school when classes are in session, but during the summer months, Katie is tasked with covering two additional meals per child each weekday. As a single mother on a fixed disability income, that’s a challenge for her.

Katie says it’s such a relief to be able to bring home healthy food from the Food Bank. Nicole, Jessie and Brittany love fresh vegetables, and Katie is glad she can fill her family’s table with balanced meals.

Your gifts don’t just help her daughters escape hunger —they bolster Katie’s health, too. She has severe diabetes and often struggles to walk due to numbness in her limbs. With your partnership, she has access to the nutritious groceries she needs to thrive.

Katie appreciates friends like you, who are a lifeline for her during times of struggle.

“Thank you a lot,” she says. “We are grateful for this food.”

Your generosity is bringing hope to families across 20 counties in Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia. Thank you for your support!
