Volunteer of the Quarter: Silverdale Baptist Academy
{tag_name_nolink}

In Fiscal Year 2018, more than 3,000 individuals volunteered at the Food Bank, providing nearly 27,000 hours of service. We are incredibly thankful for all of our volunteers, especially Silverdale Baptist Academy – our Volunteers of the Quarter!

Since 2013, Silverdale Baptist Academy students have provided 40,000 hours of service to the Food Bank. The majority of their volunteer service is through WRCB Channel 3’s annual Share Your Christmas food drive event.

In addition to volunteer hours, Silverdale Baptist Academy has provided 49,387 pounds of food and $9,123.91 in monetary donations, which equates to 39,496 meals to our neighbors in need! A group of middle school students also volunteer at the Food Bank.

“When you decide to notice, when you decide to act, when you decide to make a difference — even in a small way — you have taken the first step to changing the world,” says Christie Johnson, director of advancement. “This is our why and this is why we are Silverdale.”

I WANT TO HELP!
