A little over a year ago, Sandy Howell and fellow members of Terra Vista Baptist Church reached out to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank about setting up a donation barrel in their facility. After filling the barrel to the brim on multiple occasions, Sandy asked about more ways to get involved in the fight against hunger.

The church group began volunteering with our quarterly Saturday commodities distributions, where they help serve more than 500 families. Mark Schock, Volunteer Coordinator for the Food Bank, says the group has participated in our past four distributions and is always willing to assist wherever needed — even showing up as early as 6 A.M. to help with set up and directing traffic.

Sandy and her fellow Terra Vista members are among our friendliest and most dedicated volunteers. We are so grateful for their commitment to alleviating hunger in the communities we serve together!
