You Help Families Get Back on Their Feet

Nine–year–old Brayden isn’t picky when it comes to food, but he does have his favorites: fruits and vegetables, and macaroni and cheese.

And thanks to friends like you, Brayden is able to eat his favorites on a regular basis and get the nutrition his growing body needs — even when his parents struggle to afford groceries.

Up until recently, Brayden’s parents, Will and Kim, didn’t have trouble paying the bills. Will supported the family with his work installing floors.

But while Will was helping a friend move, he hurt his back — so much so that he couldn’t return to work right away.

Will and Kim don’t qualify for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), so when Will had a lapse in income, they were really worried.

Kim recently got a new job, but the bills had already piled up. The couple knew they needed help.

“We stressed and finally made the call,” Kim says of the decision to go to Helping Hands Food Pantry in Eton, Georgia, a partner agency of the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.

Thanks to your generosity, the couple was able to take home enough groceries to feed their family until they could get back on their feet again.

Thank you for helping this family, and many more, receive help when they needed it most.
