Development Coordinator

The Development Coordinator promotes awareness of and support for the food bank through community engagement and stewardship.

The Development Coordinator promotes awareness of and support for the Chattanooga Area Food Bank (CAFB) through a broad and diverse range of marketing communications, volunteer management, community engagement and event planning.  

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Development and the Development Team in the successful creation and implementation of both short and long-term department goals
  • Performs a wide variety of specialized office administrative support and staff support assignments.
  • Coordinate all aspects of food and fund drives including internal and external communications, tracking, and thanking participants.
  • Support the volunteer engagement program by assisting in recruitment, training, retaining, and recognizing volunteers.
  • Support the planning and execution of Development events, (fundraising, donor/volunteer appreciation, etc.
  • Cultivate relationships with community partners to raise funds and awareness.
  • Cultivate a clear understanding of and the ability to articulate the mission of the CAFB.
  • Support the branding, messaging, and communications of the CAFB, both internally and externally
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholder
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of print and social media principle
  • High energy, self-starter

The Development Coordinator will work collaboratively with staff members, volunteers, donors, and key stakeholders to fully execute the mission of the Food Bank. This position will occasionally be required to work events which may be on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends.

This is a full-time salaried position with a competitive compensation package, including: vacation and sick leave, health, dental, vision, life and insurance, short-term disability & 401Kcontribution match. The Chattanooga Area Food Bank is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Salary Range: $45,000 to $49,000, based on experience.
