Operations Liaison
The Operations Liaison serves as a central coordination and administrative support resource for the Chattanooga Area Food Bank (CAFB) Operations Department.
The Chattanooga Area Food Bank, a Feeding America network member, serves an estimated 180,000 food insecure children, adults, and seniors across Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia. The Operations Liaison supports warehouse operations, facilities, leadership, vendors, partner agencies, volunteers, and other departments by maintaining operational documentation, coordinating communication, tracking projects and performance information, and helping ensure consistent execution of operational priorities. This position provides direct support to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) through administrative coordination, data consolidation, project tracking, compliance documentation, internal communication, and cross-department support. The role also supports AIB readiness, food safety compliance, and organization-wide operational consistency.

Employment Status: Hourly Position, Non-Exempt, $20/hour
Responsibilities:
Operational Admin, Documentation, SOPs & Compliance
● Serve as a central coordination point between warehouse operations, facilities, leadership, vendors, partner agencies, volunteers, and other departments
● Coordinate warehouse and facility-related communications and cross-department operational requests
● Support special projects, process improvements, operational planning, and implementation activities
● Maintain, organize, and update warehouse and operational Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), compliance binders, forms, and templates
● Coordinate annual SOP review cycles, document version control, approval tracking, and staff communication of procedural updates
● Support Safety Culture and FMX programs and related documentation
● Support AIB audit preparation, food safety documentation, and Feeding America contract compliance
● Maintain centralized operational documentation and SharePoint resources
● Serve as a resource to staff regarding operational procedures, documentation, and established processes
● Support fleet onboarding, records, and administrative coordination
● Cross-train in other operational functions to provide continuity and coverage when needed
● Prepare and consolidate end-of-month KPI data, monthly success reporting, and operational updates
● Track ongoing Operations projects, departmental initiatives, deadlines, action items, and follow-up needs
● Help identify operational processes that require formal documentation, clarification, or improvement
Qualifications:
● Experience in operations administration, inventory control, warehouse coordination, or a related field preferred
● Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint (experience with WMS or operational management systems preferred)
● Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
● Strong organizational skills, follow-through, and attention to detail
● Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and work across departments
● Basic knowledge of sanitary food safety, storage, and handling guidelines
● Demonstrated dependability and reliable attendance
● Valid driver's license and clean driving record
● Food Safety Certificate within 90 days of employment, if required for the position
Physical Requirements:
Ability to meet all physical requirements of the job (occasionally lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 60 lbs., moving pallets up to 2,000 lbs., etc.)
Warehouse/Fleet Working Conditions:
● Warehouse environment - temperature zones in the warehouse can range from-10 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit
● Concrete floors & in outdoor environments during deliveries
● Position requires standing, walking, lifting, bending, and climbing in and out of trucks for an extended period of time
