CDL B Truck Driver & Warehouse Associate
A CDL B Truck Driver and Warehouse Associate is responsible for the safe, timely, and compliant transportation of food assistance products to partner agencies and distribution sites; in the warehouse, the responsibilities include inventory, stocking, and creating orders as needed.
The Chattanooga Area Food Bank (CAFB) is seeking a full time, team-oriented warehouse associate & distribution delivery truck driver to join a dynamic staff dedicated to fulfilling our mission in leading a network of partners and uniting the community to eliminate hunger by feeding, nourishing and empowering those we serve. A CDL B Truck Driver and Warehouse Associate is responsible for the safe, timely, and compliant transportation of food assistance products to partner agencies and distribution sites. In the warehouse, the responsibilities include inventory, stocking, and creating orders as needed.
Reports to: Operations Manager
Primary Location: Chattanooga Warehouse
Responsibilities:
· Load, unload and receive product donations safely using docks and lift gates.
· Process and deliver agency orders in a safe, accurate and timely fashion.
· Operate CAFB vehicles in compliance with DOT, state, and organizational policies.
· Complete and turn in accurate shipping and receiving paperwork in a timely manner.
· Ensure that the warehouse areas comply with all Feeding America, state and federal safety regulations and guidelines.
· Maintain required cleaning areas per the Master Sanitation Schedule.
· Attend staff meetings and outside work-related events.
· Willingness to cross-train and learn other positions within the organization.
· Commitment to promoting a team environment by helping staff and volunteers as needed.
· Assist with warehouse tasks related to staging, palletizing, and preparing orders for distribution.
· Perform routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
· Help maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles, ensuring the truck is tidy, clean, and in good order, both cab and box. (Including loading areas).
· Perform warehouse duties and other assignments as required.
· Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, as needed.
Requirements:
• Valid Class “B” commercial driver’s license, with a safe driving record.
• Minimum two years’ experience in truck deliveries w/ lift gate, forklift, and electric pallet jacks.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations, practices, procedures, and standards.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
• Strong knowledge of digital DOT log process.
• Strong organizational skills, accuracy, safety, and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Possesses a positive “can do” problem-solving attitude and proposes solutions to issues and problems as they arise.
• Must have the ability to complete food safety certification within sixty days of hire.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to meet all physical requirements of the job (occasionally lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 75-100 lbs., moving pallets up to 2,000 lbs., etc.).
Warehouse/Fleet Working Conditions:
• Warehouse environment - Temperature zones in the warehouse can range from -10 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Concrete floors & in outdoor environments during deliveries.
• Position requires standing, walking, lifting, bending, and climbing in and out of trucks for an extended period of time.
