GA Programs Specialist
This position is responsible for coordinating internal and community-based programs that efficiently move federal and state food to underserved populations, ensuring compliance with USDA guidelines and Feeding America regulations, and strengthening partnerships across a multi-county service area.
The GA Programs Specialist is a vital member of the Community Impact Team and plays a critical role in expanding and managing food distribution efforts utilizing federal and state program resources. This position is responsible for coordinating internal and community-based programs that efficiently move federal and state food to underserved populations, ensuring compliance with USDA guidelines and Feeding America regulations, and strengthening partnerships across a multi-county service area. This position will work closely with the NW GA Community Impact Manager, Operations, and partner agencies. This position will plan, implement, and monitor federal and state program distributions, develop program menus, manage distribution schedules, and provide on-site support and training. This position also supports data collection, reporting, and continuous improvement of alternative distribution models to ensure equitable access to food for neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

Location: Primary base at NW GA Warehouse in Dalton: includes travel within the 9-county GA service area (company vehicle provided)
Responsibilities:
· Program Coordination & Implementation
- Coordinate internal and community-based food distribution programs utilizing Georgia federal and state products.
- Plan, schedule, and manage distribution activities in collaboration with Community Impact Manager, Operations, and Community Partners.
- Develop and maintain programming and distribution calendars to ensure timely and efficient delivery of food.
- Create bi-weekly and monthly menus for assigned programs, aligning product availability with community needs.
- Coordinate Just-In-Time deliveries and respond to changes in orders or schedules.
· Partner & Community Engagement
- Work directly with schools, agencies, and community partners to plan, implement, and monitor distributions and internal programs.
- Conduct check-ins and provide on-site program support during distributions to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
- Provide training and schedule annual site visits for partners to support program quality and regulatory compliance.
- Represent the food bank in community meetings, task forces, and partner engagements related to food assistance programs.
· Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure all programs comply with federal, state and Feeding America guidelines.
- Monitor program operations to maintain consistency, accuracy, and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Assist in developing and updating program documentation, policies, forms, and procedures to support sustainable operations.
· Data, Reporting & Evaluation
- Collect, track, and analyze program data to support reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Provide accurate and timely internal and external reports related internal programs.
- Support data needs for grant reporting, audits, and partner performance monitoring.
· Cross Departmental Collaboration
- Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure federal and state inventory is moved efficiently and aligned with program needs.
- Communicate with CommunityEngagement/Development teams to identify and meet volunteer needs for internal programs.
- Work across departments to address logistical, staffing, and operational needs.
· Program Development & Continuous Improvement
- Assist in creating proposals for new, expanded, alternative distribution initiatives.
- Coordinate pilot projects, including logistics, staffing, delivery needs, and cost data.
- Support Impact Manager with data and insights to identify underserved areas and improve food access strategies.
· Administration & Operations
- Reporting: Maintain accurate program databases and produce timely reports regarding distributions.
- Create orders in CAFB software to support distributions.
Communication:
· Bilingual Proficiency: Strongly Preferred (English/Spanish).
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities with conscientious attention to detail.
· Maintains continual communication with prospective sites for distribution.
Mobility:
· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for occasional regional travel.
Schedule:
· This position follows a Tuesday-Saturday scheduled work week, early mornings and evenings required to support distribution needs. Must be willing to maintain flexibility with daily start and end times.
· This position can not be performed remotely.
Other Requirements:
· Must pass a background check and drug screen.
· Ability to work with diverse groups of individuals and work independently with minimal supervision.
· Attend staff meetings and outside work-related events.
· Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $40,000 to $42,000, based on experience.
